MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Postseason basketball returns to Murphy Center when Middle Tennessee (22-10) plays host to Wake Forest in the second round of the WNIT Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Lady Raiders improved to 3-0 in WNIT first-round games under Head Coach Rick Insell with a 67-58 win against Morehead State in first-round action. Wake Forest (16-15) routed Bethune-Cookman, 71-42, in its first-round contest.
"This will be a difficult challenge against a very good ACC team," Insell said. "We know about the ACC having played some quality teams from their conference this season. We have to have a better effort than we had in the first round if we want to continue in this tournament."
Sunday's action is set for a 2 p.m. tip with Dick Palmer and Duane Hickey on the 89.5 WMOT broadcast. Fans can also follow the game free via the C-USA streaming site, CUSA.TV/RaiderVision.
Sunday's game will be the first between the two schools in women's basketball; however, Middle Tennessee is familiar with the ACC having played Georgia Tech, Louisville and Virginia during the regular season.
The winner of Sunday's contest will face the winner of Georgia Tech vs. UCF in the round of 16.
TICKETS: Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and children ages 12 and under. The first 200 students with a valid MTSU ID will receive free admission to the game. Postseason games are not included in season ticket packages.
SEATING: Seating is general admission.
BRAA: Parking passes will not be valid, but parking in the Greenland Lot will be free of charge. Golf cart shuttle service will be available and run pre- and post-game. Valet parking will not be available for those at the Blue Champion level.
PARKING: There will be free parking on campus for spectators. The most convenient parking will be along Greenland Drive between Middle Tennessee Blvd. and Rutherford Blvd. Handicapped parking will be provided in the main Greenland Drive lot near the arena.
