Byrd shoots 2-under par 70
ROUND ONE RESULTS
GREENSBORO, GA – Middle Tennessee men's golf opened play on Sunday at the Linger Longer Invitational where they shot a round of 293 at the Reynolds Lake Oconee golf course (par 72, 7,073 yards). The Blue Raiders are in 12th place with 36 holes to play.
Baylor had a 14-under par 274 to grab the early lead while Troy, UNCG, and Michigan are tied for second at 8-under par.
Sophomore Marcus Byrd was the only Blue Raider under par has he carded a 70 to stand in a tie for 17th. Byrd added four birdies on his round and tied for third in the field with 13 pars.
Senior Joey Savoie is tied for 40th after posting a 1-over par 73. Savoie added three birdies on his round with all three coming on the back nine.
Freshmen Chip Thomas and Ilari Saulo both registered a 75 and are tied for 58th. Thomas joined Byrd with four birdies on the day, including three on the front nine.
Senior Drake Duncan completed the Blue Raider scoring with a 77. Duncan, who had three birdies, is tied for 70th.
The Blue Raiders will begin round two Monday at 9 AM Central off hole number 10.
