MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders are finally back home to take on Lipscomb at 6 p.m. Wednesday night at Reese Smith Jr. Field.
The game was moved from Tuesday to Wednesday due to incoming weather.
This will be the 51st meeting between the two programs, The Bisons lead the overall series 27-23, including a 3-2 win in Nashville (2/21) over the Blue Raiders earlier this year.
MT looks to bounce back from getting swept on the road at Florida Atlantic.
The Blue Raiders leading hitting, Aaron Aucker, is out for Tuesday's game after missing the final two games of the Florida Atlantic series, pulling his hamstring in Friday night's game. Aucker is hitting .345 this year, with a team-leading 15 RBI, while only playing in 15 of MT's 19 games.
Key relief pitcher, Reid Clements will also miss the game due to an arm injury.
Redshirt freshman Devin Conn looks to bring his hot-hitting back to Murfreesboro, after going 4-of-6 in two games against FAU, while starting on the mound Sunday. The Parkland, Fla., native hit his first career double in Friday's game.
Murfreesboro native, and 2016 Freshman All-American brought his bat to Florida, hitting .462, including two doubles and two RBI in the weekend series. Second baseman Kevin Sullivan also found success in Florida, going 5-for-11 in the series, including three doubles and two RBI.
Senior shortstop Riley Delgado hit his first career homer against FAU Sunday to leadoff the game. Delgado's home run to lead off the game was the first Blue Raider to do so since 2011.
Freshman Grant Williams will get his second start of the season Tuesday night. The Hendersonville native, is coming off of his best start against at Memphis two weeks ago, throwing 4-1/3 innings, while allowing two earned runs on three hits and striking out three.
The Bisons are coming off of a home sweep of Illinois State this past weekend. Lipscomb is expected to start RHP Nicko Ortega on the mound. This will be Ortega's first start of the season, after making six appearances out of the bullpen so far this season.
It's $2 Wednesday at the park with all tickets, hot dogs and drinks being priced at $2.
