The awards are selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division I, with District 11 being made up of Conference USA's 14 member institutions.
The Coach of the Year honor was the second this season for Davis, who was also named Conference USA Coach of the Year on March 8. Davis led the Blue Raiders to a school record 31 wins in 2016-17 while racking up a Conference USA record 17 league wins.
He also guided Middle Tennessee back to the NCAA Tournament and into the second round for the second consecutive season, defeating No. 5 seed Minnesota, 81-72, on March 16.
