Lady Raiders set for third round of WNIT

MT travels to Georgia Tech for postseason showdown
ATLANTA — For the second time in three seasons, Middle Tennessee (23-10) will compete in the third round of the WNIT when MT faces Georgia Tech (19-14) here Thursday night.
Tip-off from McCamish Pavilion is set for 6 p.m. and can be heard on 89.5 WMOT with Dick Palmer on the call.
In her last outing, Alex Johnson became the program's highest-scoring sophomore after pouring in 28 points in Sunday's win against Wake Forest. In total, Johnson has racked up 1,078 points in her first two seasons as a Lady Raider.
Through the first two rounds, Johnson also leads the WNIT field in scoring with 27 points per game, while senior guard Ty Petty has averaged 25 points per outing in the tournament.
Georgia Tech welcomes MT to Atlanta after wins against Jacksonville and Central Florida. The Yellow Jackets have enjoyed balance from the field, as Francesca Pan has logged 30 points in the two games, while Kaylan Pugh and Imani Tilford have added 26 and 22 points, respectively.
The winner of the Middle Tennessee versus Georgia Tech matchup will face the winner of Tulane versus Alabama from Tuscaloosa, Ala. Date, time and location of fourth-round games will be announced following Thursday night's contests.
