MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Blue Raiders look to get back on track this week, playing two mid-week games, first Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Belmont, and then home against Austin Peay Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The Blue Raiders lead both series, against Belmont (40-14) and Austin Peay (87-43). Tuesday will be the first meeting of the season with the Bruins. MT fell in the eighth game of the year against APSU, 21-8 in Clarksville.
Senior shortstop Riley Delgado, is one of the bright spots on this Blue Raider team. Delgado leads the team with a .376 batting average (7th in C-USA), including going 11-of-18 at the plate last week, to go along with the game-winning RBI in the 11th, in Game two against WKU. The Miami, Fla. native, hit his first career homer at FAU (3/19) and followed it up with a two-run shot vs. Lipscomb Tuesday (3/21), he is the first Blue Raider to hit a home run in consecutive games this year. Delgado is second on the team with a .333 batting average, to go along with a team-high 29 hits.
Delgado ranks 23rd in the nation (4th in C-USA) with 38 hits on the season, he also ranks 58th in the nation with nine doubles. He leads the team in batting average, doubles, hits, RBI, total bases and is tied for first on the team with two home runs.
Drew Huff is coming off a fantastic series against WKU, hitting .417 in the rivalry series. The Murfreesboro native, also went 3-for-4 with his second-career home run in the contest.
Senior Brad Jarreau is back in the lineup for the Blue Raiders. Jarreau went 3-of-10 in the weekend series after missing the previous 18 games due to a broken hand.
Aaron Aucker will miss the two games this week, while still dealing with a hamstring injury. Key reliever Reid Clements is also out due to injury.
