MT to compete at Mt. SAC Relays, APSU Invitational

Blue Raiders seeking to improve times on successful start
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Entering the fifth weekend of the outdoor season, Middle Tennessee will split competition this weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays in and Torrance, Calif., and at the APSU Invitational in Clarksville.
Nine Blue Raiders will represent Middle Tennessee at the 59th annual Mt. SAC Relays. Amos Cheruiyot and Jacob Choge start the weekend Thursday night in the men's 10000-meter run beginning at 9:15 p.m. Kigen Chemadi and Hillary Rono will also compete in the men's 5000-meter run scheduled for 12:30 a.m.
Rono will resume competition Friday at 11 a.m. in the men's 1500-meter race, followed by Abike Egbeniyi and Agnes Abu in the women's 800-meter run at 4:30 p.m.
Sampson Laari will be featured in the night session of the men's 1500-meter race for MT at 8:45 p.m., before Geoffry Cheruiyot caps Friday's events for the Blue Raiders in the 3000-meter steeplechase at 8:55 p.m.
Senior Eliud Rutto and Laari will close the weekend in California with the men's 800-meter run at 4:55 p.m. on Saturday.
In transitioning to the APSU Invitational, the Blue Raiders will be among 19 schools competing at Austin Peay. Action from Fortera Stadium will get underway Friday night with field events beginning at 5 p.m.
MT will resume action in Clarksville with the conclusion of field events at 10 a.m., before capping the weekend with track events at noon on Saturday.
