Raiders in 8th after 36 holes at Wolfpack Spring Open

Savoie tied for 16th
RALEIGH, NC – The Middle Tennessee men's golf team opened play on Friday at the 2017 Wolfpack Spring Open with a 36-hole day. The Blue Raiders had a 570 total and are currently in eighth place in the 16-team field.
The tournament is being held at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course (par 71, 7,046 yards).
Host NC State owns the 36-hole lead at 25-under par while Clemson is in second at 23-under par. UNCW is in third and Maryland is in fourth.
Senior Joey Savoie led the Blue Raiders with a pair of 70s for a 2-under total and is tied for 16th.
Marcus Byrd is tied for 38th with a 144 total after rounds of 71-73. Byrd leads the entire field with 29 pars.
Freshman Ilari Saulo had an interesting day with an opening round 78 then bounced back strong with a 67 in round two. Saulo is tied for 42nd at 145. Saulo had 11 birdies on the day to lead MT and that ranks tied for fourth in the field.
Hoyeong Kim is tied for 47th overall after registering an even par 71 in round one and a 75 in round two.
Freshman Chip Thomas is tied for 55th with a 148 (75-73).
The final round will get underway Saturday at 7 AM CT.
