Raiders set for two matches in final road swing

MT to play VCU and William & Mary
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After two wins at the MT Shootout last weekend, Middle Tennessee's men's tennis squad will travel to Virginia for a two-match road swing against VCU and William & Mary this weekend.
The Blue Raiders will open the weekend in Richmond against VCU, which leads the all-time series over MT, 6-0.
Javier Armantegui and Marten Jonsson lead the Rams in dual match singles wins with eight, with Armantegui winning matches at No. 3-6, while Jonsson spends most of his time on court two. Daryl Monfils, brother of the No. 11-ranked professional singles player in the world, Gael Monfils, heads the VCU lineup with a 7-6 mark on court one this season. In doubles action for the Rams, Monfils pairs with Jonnson at No. 1 for an 8-3 mark entering the weekend.
William & Mary will face the Blue Raiders on Saturday in Williamsburg after taking on East Carolina on Friday. The Tribe leads the all-time series over MT, 3-1, despite the Blue Raiders winning the most recent matchup, a 2009 neutral site match.
Wins for the Tribe have come against Brown, Boston College, George Washington and DePaul, among others. With a record of 11-2 in the dual match season, Damon Niquet represents the Tribe at the bottom of the order. Christian Cargill mostly plays on court two, where he has an 8-5 record this season. Two doubles combos have five wins for William & Mary this season, including Addison Appleby and Tristan Bautil, winning three matches at No. 2, along with Ryan Newman and Aidan Talcott, with all five wins coming at the top doubles spot.
