Raiders off to good start at C-USA Championships

Duo set four personal bests in heptathlon
EL PASO, Texas – Elizabeth Dadzie and Qetuwrah Abdullah-Muhammad kicked off the 2017 Conference USA Championships with a solid start for the Blue Raiders as the duo set four new personal-best marks in the heptathlon.
With four multi events complete, Dadzie finished the first day in second place, while Abdullah-Muhammad stands in ninth.
Dadzie totaled 3,437 points, including a pair of wins in the 100-meter hurdles and 200-meter dash. The senior collected top three finishes in all four events. Dadzie also set personal-best marks in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.47, the high jump with a leap of 1.67 meters and in the shot put with a toss of 11.67 meters.
Abdullah-Muhammad tallied 2,989 points and grabbed a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash. The Cleveland, Tenn. native also set a personal best and took first in the third heat in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.47.
Conference championship action continues Friday afternoon with the conclusion of the combined events along with distance track events.
