Stands in Top 10 percent nationwide in APR
INDIANAPOLIS – Middle Tennessee women's golf has earned a Public Recognition Award again this Spring as released by the NCAA on Wednesday.
Blue Raider women's golf, led by tenth-year head coach Chris Adams, was recognized for the award which is based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rates. It marks the fourth straight year the women's golf program has been earned the recognition.
These awards are given each year to teams scoring in the top 10 percent in their respective sport with their APRs.
The women's golf program, which boasts a perfect score of 1000, delivered back-to-back Conference USA championships in 2015 and 2016 to go along with the first two NCAA Regional appearances in school history. The program also boasts the 2017 Conference USA individual champion in sophomore Jenna Burris.
"This is a terrific honor for our student-athletes, program and athletic department," Adams said. "It is a testament to the hard work our girls put in not only on the course but also off of it, as well as the time and energy Ms. (Debbie) Carroll and the Student-Athlete Enhancement Center staff commits to their academics."
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester or quarter by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. The APR includes eligibility, retention, and graduation in the calculation and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport. Below is a complete listing of past Blue Raider teams receiving the Public Recognition Award. For more information on the Academic Progress Rate, please log on to www.ncaa.org.
