Nine Raiders honored by Athlon

Stockstill, James, Brewer, Brady on first team

MURFREESBORO – Athlon Sports recently announced its Conference USA All-Conference team and Middle Tennessee had nine players represented to rank second among East Division teams. The Blue Raiders had four first team selections, two second team members, a third teamer and two fourth team picks.

Quarterback Brent Stockstill, wide receiver Richie James, offensive lineman Chandler Brewer and defensive end Walter Brady all earned first team honors.

Linebacker Chris Melton and place-kicker Canon Rooker were on the second team, while wide receiver Ty Lee earned third team recognition.

Offensive lineman Carlos Johnson and linebacker DJ Sanders were placed on the fourth team.

The Blue Raiders open the 2017 season at home on Sept. 2 against Vanderbilt. The game will kick-off at 7 PM CT and be shown live on CBS Sports Network. The team will report on July 30 with the first practice scheduled for July 31.
