MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee senior golfer Joey Savoie was recently named a Division I PING All-Region selection. Savoie is the first Blue Raider golfer to earn all-region recognition since Hunter Green in 2012.
Savoie, a native of Quebec, Canada, was also selected to the five-man First Team All-Conference USA squad, earlier this year.
Savoie, playing his first and only season with the Blue Raiders, led the team with a 71.8 stroke average to go with 22 of 36 rounds at par or better. He was also a member of the C-USA All-Academic team and once earned league player of the week honors.
