Delgado Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Senior shortstop Riley Delgado was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team announced Thursday afternoon.
The 2016-17 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Baseball Team has been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
The Miami, Fla., native currently maintains a 3.82 GPA in Leisure, Sport & Tourism Studies, while performing at a high level on the field. Delgado was one of 14 players recognized in the district for the award.
Delgado currently leads the team with 65 hits on the year (4th in Conference USA) in the leadoff spot. The senior slugger also ranks second on the team with 13 doubles, and fourth with 27 RBI.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
Delgado will be up for the COSIDA All-America Academic Team to be announced later on in the month.
