MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The annual Chuck Taylor Golf Classic has announced a tournament date for Monday, Sept. 25 at Stones River Country Club in Murfreesboro.
The yearly golf tournament is named for the former Middle Tennessee and major league pitcher, Chuck Taylor. It's one of the most successful fundraising events at MT every year and all proceeds benefit the Blue Raider Athletic Association, which funds student-athlete scholarships and other athletic department needs.
This year's tournament will be a little different than in years past. The format will be a four-person scramble, and the top three teams will be entered into a drawing to win a trip to Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina, where they will play in the Acura Alumni Challenge in October representing MT.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. the day of the tournament, with a shotgun start following at 9 a.m.
Team entry cost is $800, and individuals may register for $200 then be placed with a team. The registration fee includes breakfast and lunch, beverages on the course and a participant gift.
Tournament awards will take place immediately after lunch.
