DePriest scores again before DeBien seals Blue Raider win
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Goals from freshman Peyton DePriest and redshirt freshman Sam DeBien sealed the first win of the season for Middle Tennessee as the Blue Raiders downed the UIC Flames 2-0 on Sunday.
After only five combined shots in the first half, only two of which were on goal, left the Raiders and Flames scoreless through 45 minutes, the contest opened up offensively following the break.
Middle Tennessee served up seven shots in the second half, three of which were on frame, to six shots and just one on goal for the Flames.
A 66th minute breakaway goal by DePriest provided the breakthrough for the Blue Raiders as she beat the UIC keeper in a one-on-one situation thanks to a terrific through ball by sophomore Amber Hoot. DeBien sealed the win in the 87th minute when sophomore Casey Riemer crossed into the box for the redshirt freshman.

- DePriest's goal was her team-leading third of the season as she remains the Raiders' lone multi-goal scorer
- DeBien logged her first goal of the season but it was the second of her career as she scored against Jackson State early last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury
- Riemer's assist was the third of her career while Hoot's was the second of her career
- The shutout was the first of the season for the Blue Raiders and the second career shutout for sophomore Sydney Chalcraft
