DeBien, Hatch score in comeback win
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee earned its second win in a row as Taylor Hatch buried a late winner Friday night to push the Blue Raiders past Kennesaw State, 2-1.
Hatch's goal was the first of her career and came in the 85th minute as she swung a corner kick on target and just past the outstretched hands of the KSU keeper.
After falling behind 1-0 in the 55th minute, it was Sam DeBien who equalized for the Blue Raiders just seven minutes later. DeBien found the back of an empty net after a perfectly timed cross from Peyton DePriest as the goalie was closing down on her.
The win moves MT to 2-4 on the year while Kennesaw State drops to 5-2-2.
NOTABLES
QUOTABLES
"It feels really good (to get some momentum going), especially in front of your home crowd and with a young team. They showed a lot of character tonight coming from behind." – Head Coach Aston Rhoden on notching a second consecutive win
"We're still 2-4. We've been working hard and playing well and haven't been getting the results, so tonight I think it was just a matter of them refusing to lose. That's what we want, what we've been looking for and what they've been working towards." – Head Coach Aston Rhoden on coming from behind to earn the win
