Johnson named C-USA Player of the Week

MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee golfer Tyler Johnson has been named the Conference USA Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Johnson, a redshirt freshman out of Knoxville, made the most of his first collegiate tournament. With the Blue Raiders tied with Arkansas State late in the final round, Johnson birdied the par 5 18th hole to give the Blue Raiders the victory. It marked the second year in a row MT won its opening tournament.
Johnson finished tied for third overall in the field after posting rounds of 70-73-70 for a 3-under par total. He was seventh in the field in par 5 scoring at 4-under, tied for fourth in par 4 scoring at even par and his 11 birdies led the team and tied for sixth in the field.
