GREENVILLE, S.C. – Middle Tennessee women's golf put together a solid round to open the Lady Paladin Invitational, turning in a 7-over 295 on Friday to stand in fourth place.
Despite having bogeys on the final two holes drop the Blue Raiders from third to fourth, they remain within reach of the leaders with 36 holes left to play in Greenville, S.C.
Freshman Caroline Caudill led the bunch in round one, logging a 1-under 71 in just the fourth round of her collegiate career to rank tied for sixth through 18 holes.
Middle Tennessee is just two strokes back of host Furman (293) and 11 strokes behind leader Daytona State. The Blue Raiders will attempt to close the gap Saturday with Savannah Quick leading things off at 8:45 a.m. CT off the first tee.
