Wally Tidwell Pro Am starts tomorrow
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee tennis season gets underway this weekend with the 31st Annual Wally Tidwell Pro Am at the Adams Tennis Complex beginning Friday afternoon.
"This event is a great way for our guys to really get to know the people that support them from the bleachers all year," men's tennis head coach Jimmy Borendame said. "It's always fun to see the comradery in the doubles tournament each year."
The Wally Tidwell Pro Am is a community tennis event that allows amateur tennis players to be paired with MT players, alumni, coaches, etc. and compete against one another in a doubles competition. The event utilizes sponsors and entry fees to help fund the MT men's and women's tennis programs, helping them compete in Conference USA and nationally.
Friday afternoon's festivities include a clinic and a dinner, and competition begins Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at the ATC.
"Our community does a great job of supporting our teams throughout the season," women's tennis head coach Charlie Ramsay said. "I know our girls are excited to spend time with the Murfreesboro tennis community and get warmed up for the fall season."
Those wishing to sign up should contact Jimmy Borendame at 615-898-2957 or mttennis@mtsu.edu or Charlie Ramsay at 615-898-5154 or Charlie.Ramsay@mtsu.edu.
