MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's basketball team returns to the Murphy Center to host Charlotte on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
The Lady Raiders enter the contest with a 4-3 conference record after inking a 73-57 victory over the Marshall Thundering Herd on Friday.
Scouting the Charlotte 49ers (7-12, 3-3)
Charlotte is 7-12 and off to a 3-3 mark in Conference USA play. The team's offense is led by junior Laia Raventós who averages 15.3 points per game. The 5-foot-7 junior has made 101-of-224 baskets from the field to post a .451 field goal percentage. Respectively, Raventós ranks eighth in the conference in scoring.
On the defensive end, redshirt-sophomore Dara Pearson leads the 49ers on the glass averaging 8.5 rebounds per game.
The Lady Raiders lead the all-time series over the 49ers, 4-0.
Lady Raiders Secure Win Over Marshall
Freshman Anna Jones and senior Abbey Sissom were the key players in getting the Lady Raiders their fourth conference win over Marshall on Friday. The duo posted a combined 39 points over the Thundering Herd.
Jones paced the Lady Raider offense with 21 points on 7-of-13 from the field while shooting 4-of-8 from distance. Similarly, Sissom inked 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting on the evening.
