5-1 Blue Raiders begin four-match home stand

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – After splitting two matches in their first road trip of the season, Middle Tennessee women's tennis returns to the Adams Tennis Complex for another four-match home stand, starting with a match against Louisville on Friday.
Through six matches, the Blue Raiders (5-1) are led in singles by Luisa Zirilli and Zani Barnard, who both have a 4-0 record in singles play. Lee Barnard and Marta Peris Herrero also have unblemished singles records.
In doubles action for MT, Kim Kermet pairs with Zirilli to lead the way with a 4-0 record, all at the top doubles spot. Maria Josefina Zehnder and Herrero follow with a 4-1 mark.
Louisville brings a 5-0 record into Murfreesboro, including 7-0 shutouts against Wright State, Dayton, UTEP and Northern Kentucky to open the season. The Cardinals took down Western Kentucky, 5-2, in their last time on the courts.
The Cardinals are led by redshirt-junior Ola Mally at the top spot in the singles lineup with a 4-0 record, along with senior Abbie Pahz and sophomore Tiffany Huber with a mark of 5-0 at No. 3 and 4, respectively. In doubles, Mally is 4-0 with two different partners, and Pahz pairs with senior Mariana Humberg for a 5-0 record at the top doubles position.
