Match Notes
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee men's tennis will be out of the state of Tennessee for the first time this season when they travel to George Washington on Friday and St. John's on Saturday.
Despite their 0-4 record, George Washington suffered two of their losses to top-10 teams. Sophomore William Tutecky has split time with senior Chris Reynolds at the top spot in the lineup. The Colonials are still looking for their first singles doubles wins of the spring. Three returning members of last year's team earned wins over the Blue Raiders in the meeting at the Adams Tennis Complex.
On Saturday, St. John's will host MT in the first ever meeting between the two programs. The Red Storm enters the weekend with a 1-2 mark on the season, sweeping Sacred Heart, 7-0, before losses to Dartmouth and Buffalo. St. John's returns five members of their starting lineup from last year's team that was 11-15, including a first-round exit in the Big East Tournament.
After the brief two-match road stint, MT returns to the Adams Tennis Complex on Friday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. against Indiana.
