Lady Raiders Host Western Kentucky on Thursday

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Lady Raiders are set to host their conference rival Western Kentucky in the Murphy Center on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. for their annual Blue Out game.
Middle Tennessee looks for redemption in the Murphy Center after falling to the Lady Toppers, 43-57, earlier this season in Bowling Green.
Scouting the Lady Toppers (18-6, 9-2)
Senior Tashia Brown continues to be the leading force behind the Lady Topper success averaging 23.2 points per game. Respectively, Brown has hit 85-of-208 baskets to post a .409 field goal percentage in conference play this season.
As a team, Western Kentucky has created a +15.3 (74-58.7) scoring margin over its opponents and leads the conference in scoring averaging 75.5 points per game this season.
However, the Lady Toppers dropped their second conference game of the season to Rice suffering a 73-58 setback in Houston, Texas last weekend.
The Blue Raiders lead the all-time series over the Lady Toppers, 33-28, while also leading the series in the Murphy Center over Western Kentucky, 20-7.
Johnson in Conference USA Play
Junior forward Alex Johnson is regaining form after missing 11 games earlier this season due to an ankle injury. Johnson has scored double figures in four straight games for the first time this season.
The Murfreesboro native is averaging 14.8 points and 29 minutes per game over the last five outings. The forward recorded her best outing of the season over FIU with a season-high 24 points.
Lady Raiders Success from the Perimeter
Middle Tennessee ranks fourth in the conference and 66th nationally in 3-point field goal percentage (.348). Respectively, Abbey Sissom ranks sixth among all-time 3-point field goal percentage (.371) and tenth with 176 career 3-point baskets.
Likewise, junior Jess Louro has posted 231 points this season to record more than her last two combined (155). Louro has proven effective from the arc knocking down 156 3-point baskets this season.
