ATLANTA, Ga. – Four Blue Raiders notched top positions after a successful weekend at the Yellow Jacket Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Issac Odugbesan opened the Yellow Jacket Invitational on the field in the shot put and discus throw events. Odugbesan claimed a first place finish in the men's shot put with a distance of 18.16-meters. The freshman inked a new Blue Raider school record, passing the previous record set by Brian Oldfield, who was a United States Olympian.

Similarly on the field, Jacob Patten clinched a first place finish in the men's high jump with a height of 2.00-meters.

Likewise, on the women's side Joycelyn Assafuah notched a first place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 53.78. Geoffry Cheruiyot also claimed another Blue Raider first place finish in the 2,000-meter steeplechase, crossing the line at 5:49.25.

The team will return to the track next weekend to compete in the Black and Gold Invitational hosted by Vanderbilt University.
