Netters to wrap up road slate at Memphis

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – For the final time in the regular season, Middle Tennessee's women's tennis team will be on the road, as the Blue Raiders are slated to take on Memphis at 10 a.m. Friday.
The Tigers enter the matchup with a 10-7 overall record, including a 5-0 mark in home matches. Two losses have come against ranked opponents, as Memphis dropped a 4-2 decision to No. 15 Ole Miss on Feb. 3, followed by a 4-1 loss to No. 25 UCF on March 10. Memphis has won five of the last six matchups with the Blue Raiders, but MT still leads the overall series, 15-9.
Senior Anki Wind is the reigning American Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week after four wins last week in singles and doubles combined against ECU and Tulane. Wind leads the Tigers with a 14-2 dual match mark to the season, including a 7-1 record atop the singles lineup. Katherine Cao has won seven singles matches in a row and boasts a 9-4 dual match mark, mostly at the bottom of the lineup.
In doubles play, the Tigers are a combined 24-23 in dual matches, with their best winning percentage coming at the No. 3 spot. Four pairs have combined for an 11-5 mark on the last doubles court, including Josephine Cao and Claire Sullivan with an 8-3 record.
As for the Blue Raiders, Kim Kermet leads the way in singles with a 10-4 record in the spring. Zani Barnard is 9-1 in her first season in Murfreesboro, and Lidia Burrows is tied for second on the team in singles wins with a record of 9-5. In doubles, the Blue Raiders are 23-10 as a team.
After Friday's road match, MT returns to the Adams Tennis Complex for the final six matches of the regular season, starting with a showdown against Western Kentucky on Sunday at 1 p.m.
