Raiders return to MountainView Friday

TUCSON, Ariz. – Middle Tennessee women's golf tees off in its third spring event Friday when they open play in the 2018 MountainView Collegiate.
The three-day, 54-hole event is hosted by Kansas State and Missouri at the Par 72, 6,227-yard MountainView Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz. The Blue Raiders are competing in the event for the third consecutive season shooting a 37-over par 901 last season and a 31-over par 895 two seasons ago.
Also in the field this season are Conference USA foe North Texas as well as Central Arkansas, Colorado State, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri State, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Sam Houston State, San Jose State, Wichita State and Wyoming.
Juniors Jenna Burris and Hanley Long are each competing in the event for the third time while senior Cynthia Bounleutay will see the course for the second time. Burris holds the best individual score in the event from the previous two seasons, boasting a 12th place finish at 1-over par 217.
Also joining the trio of upperclassmen in MT's lineup this week are freshmen Caroline Caudill and Sophie Burks, who are averaging 76.8 and 77.3 strokes per round, respectively, in their rookie campaigns.
