FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee will compete in its final tournament before the C-USA Championship this week at the Mason Rudolph Championship. The event will take place at the Vanderbilt Legends Club South Course which is a par-71, 7,100-yard setup.
The 17th annual tournament will have a field of 14 teams that will include Alabama, Ball State, Charlotte, East Tennessee State, Florida, Georgia, High Point, Liberty, Louisville, Middle Tennessee, South Dakota, Tennessee Tech, and Troy.
Due to impending Saturday weather, teams will play 36 holes on Friday. A shotgun start will begin at 8:00 AM and determination on Saturday and Sunday play will be announced later.
"This is a big tournament for us and one we are always excited about competing in," said Head Coach Brennan Webb. "It's another strong field and a great opportunity before we head to the conference championship next week."
This weekend's lineup will include James Beckner, Marcus Byrd, Tyler Johnson, Ilari Saulo and Chip Thomas. Tanner Owens will compete as an individual.
The Blue Raiders won the Mason Rudolph in 2009 and 2011, while producing the individual champion in 2011. Hunter Green won the 2011 event with an 8-under par 205 total. Former star Jason Millard carded a 65 in the second round in 2008 and that still ranks as tied for the third-best round in tournament history.
Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament at golfstat.com.
