NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee softball team picked up a 3-1 win over the Tennessee State in their final midweek game of the season on Wednesday night. The win was MT's 31^st of the year as the Blue Raiders are now 31-18 this season.

Amber Baldwin pitched the complete game win, her ninth win of the year. She allowed just two hits in the game while striking out three.

The Tigers struck first in the game, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third. With a runner on second, Reese Weber doubled to right field to pick up the RBI as Bri Vire scored.

In the next frame, the Raiders overtook the Tigers, scoring two runs. Kristin Uselton got the rally started with a single just over first base. Morgan Harris followed with a walk. Then, Lexi Cushing sent a double to the fence in left field to score a run. The run was her 40^th RBI of the season as she is now just three shy of setting a new single season record. Claire Smith earned the other RBI, as she sent a sacrifice fly to left field. Harris tagged up to give MT the lead.

Precious Birdsong delivered a triple, her third of the year, in the fifth inning to give the Raiders another run. Keely McGee was on second after reaching on a single to right center and then stealing a base. McGee's run put MT up, 3-1.

The Blue Raiders silenced the Tigers in the two innings that followed with two double plays. Both times, Smith fielded the ball at second, tossed it to Burgess who fired it across to Cushing at first.

Middle returns to the Blue Raider Softball Field for the final time this season as they host UTEP this weekend. The games begin with a doubleheader on Saturday at 2pm and conclude with senior day on Sunday at noon.
