First year in Murfreesboro a success for Kermet
MURFREESBORO, Tenn.– In her first year at Middle Tennessee, Kim Kermet led the Blue Raiders in dual match singles wins with a record of 14-8 and was rewarded by being named to the All-Conference USA Second Team Singles list.
The West Palm Beach, Florida, native and Tennessee transfer played mostly at the No. 3 spot in the lineup but also had a 1-0 record at the top spot in the lineup to go with two wins on court two. She ended her year on a three match win streak, which is tied for the longest on the team with senior Maria Josefina Zehnder, her doubles partner in the fall.
Highlight wins in the regular season came against North Florida, Florida Gulf Coast, Brown, WKU, and Xavier. She was 4-4 in third sets in the 2018 dual match season.
In the C-USA Championship, Kermet continued to display her strength at the No. 3 spot in the lineup with straight-set wins against 12-seed UTSA and 4-seed FAU, and she was two games away from sending her match against top-seed No. 37 FIU to a third set.
MT has been represented in the All-C-USA Singles list every season it has been in the league, as Kermet joins teammates Costanza Magazzini and Lidia Burrows, who made the list last season.
