Raiders tied for 9th at Irish Creek

KANNAPOLIS, NC – Middle Tennessee is tied for ninth following 36 holes on Saturday at the Irish Creek Intercollegiate. The Blue Raiders had a 596 total on the par 71, 7,099-yard Club at Irish Creek course.
Clemson shot a 3-under par 565 to lead the field with Georgia Tech nine shots back in second. UNC Greensboro is third, followed by North Florida and Kansas.
Chip Thomas paced the way for the Blue Raiders on day one with rounds of 75-72 and is tied for 27th. Thomas tied for seventh in the field with a par 3 scoring total of even par.
Marcus Byrd had back-to-back rounds of 75 and is tied for 40th, while Tyler Johnson is tied for 47th. Johnson opened with a 1-over par 72 then turned in a 79 in round two.
Ilari Saulo is tied for 53rd at 10-over par and James Beckner is tied for 66th at 12-over par.
Hoyeong Kim, playing as an individual, is tied for 66th at 12-over par.
The final round will get underway Sunday morning at 8:30 AM.
