Bill Martin
- Induction:
- 2004
- Class:
- 1965
A transfer from Paducah Junior College, Bill Martin was a Junior College All-American who came to MT in 1963 and led the Blue Raider baseball team in batting average, triples, doubles and RBIs that year. He earned All-OVC honors in both his seasons of play. He was voted MVP and captain of both the basketball team in 1965 and the baseball team in 1963 and 1964.
After scoring in double-figures in basketball in the 1962-63 season, he was injured but battled back to lead the Raiders in scoring in the 1964-65 season. Martin's accomplishments were magnified when it was learned he was married, had a child and hitchhiked back to Paducah every weekend to be with his family.
