Billy Walker

A native of Shelbyville, Tenn., Billy Walker was a Blue Raider punter whose footwork and rifle arm propelled the team in 1964 and 1965 to a combined 17-2-1 record. By his sophomore year, he had 31 pass completions in 62 tries for 429 yards and three touchdowns leading to a 10-0 season.
As a starter in 1966, Walker completed 100 of 192 passes for 1,351 yards and 12 touchdowns. In 1967, that number rose to 152 completed passes in 288 attempts for 1,856 yards and 15 touchdowns. As a punter in his senior year, he averaged 40.1 yards for 33 punts. Also a pitcher on MT's baseball team, he was All-Conference in 1968 when the Blue Raiders won their first OVC baseball title.
