A member of Coach Charles "Bubber" Murphy's early 1950s football squads, Bobby Young earned All-VSAC in 1951 and All-OVC in 1952 and 1953. He was a leading scorer in 1951 with 78 points and went on to accumulate an impressive 191 points in his collegiate career, including 29 touchdowns.
In the 1953 season alone, he racked up 71 points. It's a total that ranks among MT's highest. At the end of his career, he topped the OVC's statistical categories in total offense, rushing scoring and punting.
