Football was literally a new game to Charles "Red" Holt who played in the first football game he ever saw. He is most often described by fans and teammates as one of the best interior linemen of his era. After graduating from MT, Holt coached both high school football and basketball and retired as the superintendent of Lawrenceburg schools after serving in that capacity for 17 years.
Throughout his professional career, he continued his commitment to MT, serving as president of a district alumni association, president of the National Alumni Association and president of the MTSU Foundation.
