Jennifer Martinez was a trailblazer in Middle Tennessee’s entry into NCAA collegiate softball. Her accolades speak for themselves. In 1999 she was selected the OVC Freshman of the Year, the OVC Pitcher of the Year and selected to the all-conference team. She repeated the Pitcher of the Year and all-conference honors in 2000 and was also selected the OVC Tournament MVP. Upon Middle Tennessee’s move to the Sun Belt Conference, she continued to dominate. In addition, she earned a spot on the 2002 Sun Belt Academic Honor Roll and, in 2006 she was named to the Sun Belt’s All-Time Softball team. At the time of her induction, she still ranked #1 in wins (75), shutouts (35), strikeouts (907) and ERA (1.45). During her spectacular career, she tossed a perfect game, three no-hitters and, in one game, struck out a school-record of 15 batters.
