Women's competitive collegiate sports at MT were just gaining traction when Mary Beasley stepped onto the hardwood in the 1920s. With coaching from fellow Hall of Famer, Frank Faulkinberry, Beasley and her teammates made names for themselves by playing and starring on the only women's national championship team that MT produced in that era. She went on to coach women's athletics at MT while also serving as the college's Dean of Women.
