Micah Otis was a multi-event specialist for head track coach Dean Hayes from the 1991-92 season through 1995. During his storied career he did it all, excelling in the dashes, hurdles and jumps, both indoors and outdoors. All in all, he earned six Ohio Valley Conference championships while competing for the Blue Raiders. Indoors, he took top honors in the 1994 and ’95 OVC 55-meter high hurdles and the 1995 200-meter dash. Also, in that 1994 campaign, he competed in the NCAA indoor championships and earned All-American status in the long jump. Outdoors, Otis won OVC titles in the 110-meter high hurdles (1993-95), the 200-meter dash (1992, 1993) and the long jump (1995). The Nashville native was also the anchor leg of Middle Tennessee’s legendary 4 x 200-meter relay team that won two consecutive Penn Relay championships (1993-94) and was ranked #1 in the nation during that span.
