Roger Carroll is a unique Hall of Famer in that he toiled in a position, football offensive guard, which is not linked to a bevy of personal statistics.
But, just listen to all who benefited from his highly-skilled performance on the field and you understand why he is a true Hall of Famer. This former team captain and All-OVC performer is in rare company in having started every game of his four-year career.
A genuine sign of his significant impact on playing field came in 1983 when the prestigious American Football Coaches' Association pegged Carroll as a first-team All-American.
