Vernon "Buck" Hindman played MT football in 1929 and 1930 but his real love was basketball, a sport he played throughout his college career. A member of the Faulkinberry Boys, athletes who competed under fellow Hall of Famer, Coach Frank Faulkinberry, Hindman and his teammates helped put MT on the collegiate athletic map. He went on to coach for five years on the high school level.
