Former Middle Tennessee football standout Barry Hall learned Sunday evening he had made the 53-man roster for the Tennessee Titans. Hall, out of Fairmount, GA, is one of nine rookies who survived the cut and one of just four free agent rookies to make the team.
"I can't say I am not excited because I am," Hall said. "I was not as nervous as you would thank because it was out of my hands. I had done everything I could on the field. It was up to the coaches from that point and luckily I was one of the 53."
Hall played for the Blue Raiders from 1997-2000 and was a key figure along the offensive line during Middle Tennessee's first winning season as a I-A member. Hall, who is know for his physical play and being able to finish, started 42 straight games for the Blue Raiders.
Hall is one of nine offensive linemen on the team and the only rookie.
"I felt all along Barry would make the team because of his work ethic, desire, competitiveness and drive," Middle Tennessee head coach Andy McCollum said. "When you talk about character, you think of Barry Hall. He was and still will be a great representative of our University."
Hall and the Titans will get their season underway on Sunday night at home against the Miami Dolphins.
