MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The 36th-ranked Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders won the doubles point and got singles victories at Nos. 1,2,4 and 6 to take a 5-2 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette Sunday afternoon at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center. The 26th-ranked duo of Oliver Foreman and Robert Gustafsson won 8-6 over Michael Tarkowski and Johann van der Westhuizen at No. 1 doubles, while 46th-rated Daniel Klemetz and Kirk Jackson defeated Jakub Ilewski and Bobby Hawkins, 8-2. At No. 3, Trevor Short and Michael Staniak won 8-5 against Anthony Blache and Marc Castellan, giving the Blue Raiders a sweep of the doubles matches. In singles, 14th-ranked Daniel Klemetz won 7-5, 6-3 over Ilewski at No. 1, and 105th-rated Robert Gustafsson also won for the Blue Raiders, picking up a 6-2, 6-4 victory against Blache. Staniak overcame dropping the first set to post a 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4 over Tarkowski, and Rishan Kuruppu defeated Hawkins, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 6. Oliver Foreman dropped a 5-7, 2-6 decision to Westhuizen at No. 3, and Castellan defeated Short, 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5 for the Ragin' Cajuns two points in the match. The win moves the Blue Raiders to 14-5 for the season with one regular season match remaining, while UL-Lafayette dropped to 4-13 on the season, with eight of those losses to ranked opponents. The Blue Raiders conclude the regular season on Wednesday with a 2 p.m. match at Vanderbilt before the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Mobile, Ala., scheduled for April 19-21. #36 MIDDLE TENNESSEE 5, LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE 2
