Lady Raiders Upset by UALR 4-3

MOBILE, Ala. - The No. 3 seed Middle Tennessee Lady Raider tennis team was upset by No. 6 seed Arkansas-Little Rock 4-3 Friday in the Sun Belt Tournament at the Mobile Tennis Center.
UALR (23-4) advances to Saturday's 9 a.m. semifinal against No. 2 Denver. MT (10-9) will face North Texas in Saturday's 8 a.m. consolation match-up.
In singles play, the Trojans won all three matches at the bottom of the lineup, capped by Ellie Vicary's thrilling 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 win at the No. 4 slot. Outi Jarvinen also provided a huge win with a come-from-behind three-set victory at No. 5.
Middle Tennessee began the match by losing the doubles point, but the 10th ranked tandem of Manon Kruse and Carien Venter did pick up their 24th win of the season. Kruse broke the school record for doubles wins in a career with the victory and now has 86.
