2005 football schedule changes slightly

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Due to a scheduling conflict with the Sun Belt Conference, Middle Tennessee has a slight change in its 2005 football schedule. The Blue Raiders will now face Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton on October 15 rather than October 8.
A newcomer to Sun Belt football, Florida Atlantic and Middle Tennessee were originally scheduled to play on the 15th of October but it was moved to the 8th in order to help the Owls secure another I-A game. Once FAU made a few changes in its schedule they asked Middle Tennessee if the game could be moved back to the 15th.
"We were trying to help out Florida Atlantic as much as we could," Interim Athletic Director Diane Turnham said. "But the move to the 15th of October is actually beneficial to our program because now we do not have to play three straight weeks on the road. This gives Andy (McCollum) and his team a bye week after games against Temple and Vanderbilt on the road, which is better for his players than having it fall after three straight away from home."
The updated schedule can be viewed on GoBlueRaiders.com.
