Givens Named Sun Belt Player of the Week

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - For the second time this season Middle Tennessee junior guard Chrissy Givens has been named Sun Belt Player of the Week.
With Middle Tennessee leading by one against Western Kentucky, in the final minute of the game, Givens arguably hit one of the biggest shots of the season when she drained a three-pointer on the right side of the arch to give the Blue Raiders a four-point lead and enough cushion to capture the game. She finished the game with 23 points, the ninth time this season Givens has recorded 20 or more points.
The Monroe, La., native has now scored 20 or more points in six straight home games. Givens, who is averaging 20.0 points a game for the season, also added six rebounds, five assists and six steals against Western Kentucky.
Middle Tennessee begins a three game conference road swing on Thursday when the squad travels to Jonesboro, Arkansas to take on Arkansas State. Tip-off is set for 8:05 p.m. and will be televised as part of the ESPN+ package. The game can be viewed locally on CSS.
