Play begins Sunday
COLLEGE GROVE, TN - Middle Tennessee will host the inaugural Intercollegiate at The Grove Club on October 26-28. The 12-team event will have a local and regional flair on the par 72, 7,368 yard course. The tournament is free and open to the public.
The Grove opened in 2012 and was designed by PGA tour player Greg Norman. His design incorporates the natural rolling hills, meandering stream beds and native grasses, which maintains the natural character of the site, while creating exciting play for golfers at every level.
Along with the Blue Raiders, the field will consist of Belmont, Cincinnati, College of Charleston, GRU Augusta (formerly Augusta State), Lipscomb, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Southern Miss, Tennessee Tech, Troy and Tulsa.
"We are really excited about this tournament and everyone at The Grove has made it easy and a joy to work with," said Head Coach Whit Turnbow. "We want to make this one of the elite fall tournaments so we like how we have started. It should be a great event for golf enthusiasts to come see."
The weekend will get underway today with practice at 9:00 AM on the range and practice round times beginning at 10:30 AM.
The first round tee times will begin at 9 AM on Sunday, October 26 using holes 1 and 10. Second round and third round tee times will also start at 9 AM each day. A dinner for the players and coaches is set for Monday at 5 PM and the awards ceremony will be Tuesday at 4 PM.
Middle Tennessee will have a tournament page on GoBlueRaiders.com that will have a recap from each day, a photo gallery and video. Also, fans can track live scoring at Golfstat.com.
