CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Middle Tennessee fell 2-0 at Charlotte on Thursday night to close the regular season with a 8-8-2 record overall and a 5-4-1 record in Conference USA play.
The Blue Raiders went down early as Charlotte's Martha Thomas scored in the third minute of the match as the 49ers sent a ball throught the defense and she finished the break away.
Thomas would find the back of the net again in the 79th minute to put Charlotte up 2-0.
Emily Jorgenson and Amalie Anderdal led the team in total shots with three a piece, while the Blue Raiders were only able to to put three shots on goal. Kelsey Brouwer ended the match with five saves.
The Blue Raiders had already clinched a spot in the C-USA Championship which begins Nov. 5 as Middle Tennessee awaits to see what seed it will be. MT is currently in fifth place in C-USA with two games yet to be played to determine where the team will finally land.
