MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee men's tennis team fell to No. 25 USF 6-1 on Friday afternoon at Buck Bouldin Tennis Center. In the defeat, the Blue Raiders drop to 9-13 on the spring.
Junior Ettore Zito picked up the lone victory for the Blue Raiders, who were left shorthanded on the afternoon due to injuries. The 123rd-ranked Zito defeated the Bulls' Roberto Cid in a third-set super-tiebreaker (5-7, 7-6 (7-5), 10-8). Zito is now 12-6 in singles play this spring.
The Blue Raiders close out the regular season on Sunday when they host No. 60 UCF at 10 a.m. at Buck Bouldin Tennis Center. Sunday will feature USTA Campus Kids Day, which will feature pizza and a post-match tennis clinic for children 13 and under.
