Fish Fry Auction Items Announced
10/5/2015 3:33:00 PM | Baseball
MURFREESBORO – With the John Stanford Grand Slam Fish Fry set for Wednesday, Oct. 14, the live and silent auctions that will take place will include a variety of high-profile sports memorabilia.
Each year, the fish fry and its sports memorabilia auctions serve as one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the Blue Raider baseball program.
This year's auction will include signed apparel and equipment much like past auctions, with a few high-profile items included.
The lineup card from the Atlanta Braves dugout in their game against the New York Mets at Shea Stadium on Sept. 28, 2002 will be on sale at the auction.
The item holds special significance as the lineup card from the game in which Braves closer John Smoltz set the major league record for saves in a season with 55, a record that still stands to this day. In addition, it is signed by three hall of famers in Smoltz, Braves starting pitcher Tom Glavine, and Braves manager Bobby Cox.
The auction items that currently plan to be sold at the fish fry can be found listed below.
Tickets for the fish fry are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and children under 6-years-old are admitted for free. Tickets are available by purchasing in person at the athletic ticket office located at Gate 1A of Floyd Stadium, on GoBlueRaiders.com, or calling 615-898-2103. Tickets are currently still available.
For more information, please call 615-898-2450. Proceeds from the John Stanford Grand Slam Fish Fry benefit the Blue Raider baseball program.
