Enhances fan experience
MURFREESBORO – The Middle Tennessee men's and women's tennis programs have been building momentum on and off the court recently thanks to tremendous support from the Blue Raider tennis community. The programs will be moving into a new indoor facility in August and last spring a new state-of-the-art scoreboard was installed at the Buck Bouldin Outdoor Tennis Center.
The $80,000 scoreboard provides a better fan experience as those in attendance can more easily follow all the results from each court. The Daktronics scoreboard was funded by the generous donation of the Mark Tulloch Family.
Tulloch, the COO of Navihealth, Inc. in Brentwood, is a graduate of Middle Tennessee and played tennis under former coach Dick Lalance from 1980 to 1983 where he earned all-OVC honors in 1981. Mark and his wife, Emily, have three children.
"I really appreciate the heart felt contribution by the Tulloch family," said Jimmy Borendame, Head Men's Tennis Coach. "This adds a lot to our facility and goes a long way in helping us advance our program."
The six court digital scoreboard, located on the east side of the facility, stands 11 feet high and is 27 feet wide, and is equipped with wireless remotes. It has a Blue Raider blue color with "Mark Tulloch Family Scoreboard" listed prominently at the bottom.
"We have had many favorable comments from fans at our spring matches about the new scoreboard," said Shelley Godwin, Head Women's Tennis Coach. "The fans noticed the difference it adds to our facility and the ease for them to keep up with all the action. We are very grateful to the Tulloch family for this much needed donation."
